Intensive 12 Session Art Experiential Seminar

Dr. Scott provides a once a month educational art experiential workshop at the Malibu Art Barn at Sycamore Farms. This workshop is offered to cultural creatives, practicing or recovering artists, or folks from any walk of life who want to explore their creativity. The group size is limited and the class duration is twelve sessions.

The art experiential classes have been designed to compliment the book, The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. Each participant is encouraged to follow the daily writing assignments in the book while participating in monthly art exercises that support the themes of the chapters. Examples of the themes are, 1) recovering a sense of safety for your inner artist, 2) recovering a sense of artistic identity, and 3) recovering a sense of power as a creative person.

Again, these workshops are open to writers, poets, actors, painters, and creative people from all walks of life. Participants in this experiential seminar will practice techniques such as blind contour self-portraits, life-sized silhouette mandalas, prayer sticks, Haiku poetry, mask making and shadow boxes. While this seminar is designed to allow for personal process, the goal is for educational purposes. The primary purpose of the seminar is to develop your creativity.
